A commander of the banned CPI (Maoist) group was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Palamu district, Jharkhand, on Monday night, a senior police officer reported on Tuesday.During the encounter, another Maoist, Nitesh Yadav, who has a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head, was injured. He reportedly sustained a gunshot wound. Police also recovered several weapons, including a self-loading rifle, during a follow-up search operation.”The body of a CPI (Maoist) has been recovered, following an intense gunfight between the security forces and red rebels in Palamu. The identification process is on,” Palamu DIG YS Ramesh told PTI.However, officials said it was the body of Tulsi Bhuniyan, a top Maoist commander.(With inputs from PTI)
