Hyderabad: The Congress leadership has announced plans to strengthen the party’s organisational framework at the mandal and district levels, including the formation of new district Congress committees (DCCs) and the appointment of their presidents. Additionally, the party has decided to fill nominated posts in both the party and government.A meeting was held here on Tuesday by AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan and TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud with DCC presidents and incharges of the 10 erstwhile districts. Natarajan and Goud accepted the proposals from leaders to form new DCCs and discussed the names of senior leaders for appointments to party and government The discussions also focused on organisational structure, including the appointment of directors and members to various corporations and boards within the state. District incharges, vice-presidents, and general secretaries, after multiple rounds of consultations, recommended two aspirants for each Assembly constituency. Reports on the proposed appointments were submitted to Natarajan and Goud. The recommendations stressed on social justice, giving priority to SC, ST, BC, minorities and women candidates. Additionally, 60 per cent of the recommended names were under the age of 50 to give priority to youth. With reports now in hand, a meeting between Natarajan, Goud and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is expected soon to finalise names for party and government positions.
