Chennai:Chief Minister M K Stalin reviewed the progress of the recently launched ‘Ungaludun Stalin’ (Stalin with You) scheme on Tuesday from his bed in the Apollo Hospitals, where he was admitted on Monday for medical evaluation after he developed giddiness during his morning walk, after doctors advised him to continue his official work from hospital.In a message on X, Stalin said that he was carrying out his official duties from the hospital where he has been admitted and also held work-related discussions with the Chief Secretary N Muruganandam, enquiring about the ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ scheme, launched on July 15.The Chief Minister wanted to know how many of that grievances raised through the 5,74,614 complaints received till Monday had been resolved and also enquired about the action taken on the grievances related to the various departmentsHe issued instructions that the camps to receive petitions should be conducted as per schedule and basic amenities should be provided to the people visiting the camps. He also wanted action on the complaints to be taken without any slackness, an official press release said.At the hospital in Greams Road, he underwent a series of tests and also travelled to the Apollo Hospitals unit in Teynampet by a van for taking a PET scan.Doctors would decide on the duration that he would have to stay in hospital after seeing the reports of the tests, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin told reporters as he came out of the hospital.Stalin’s elder brother M K Alagiri and younger brother M K Tamilarasu were among the host of family members who visited the hospital on Tuesday, besides several Ministers.The crowds that gathered at the hospital gates on hearing about Stalin’s admission there on Monday had dissipated mainly after seeing him travelling by the van to Teynampet. Knots of supporters only made sporadic visits to the hospital gates and left when told the Chief Minister was doing well and was only under observation.From the hospital, Stalin also made an announcement for carrying out a slew of water resources development schemes at the historic Cholagangam lake with a surface area of 700 acres in Ariyalur district at a cost of Rs 12 crore.Another Rs 7.25 crore was announced for developing the lake, also known as Ponneri, as a tourist spot. The lake is believed to have been created by King Rajendra Chola, 1000 years ago.The announcements by the Chief Minister were made to mark the Adi Thiruvathirai festival on July 23. Since 2021, the government has been officially celebrating Adi Thiruvathiri, which commemorates the triumphant return of Rajendra Chola after a series of conquests in South Asia.
