CM Revanth Takes Pride In Telangana Caste Census

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy hailed the Congress Working Committee’s (CWC) resolution urging the Central government to adopt the “Telangana model” for the upcoming national caste census as a moment of immense pride for the state.After taking part in the CWC meeting held in Delhi on Friday, Revanth Reddy took to social media platform X to express his happiness over the endorsement of Telangana government’s pioneering efforts. “For undertaking the caste census as part of the national population census, the AICC’s highest decision-making body, the CWC, has passed a resolution demanding that the Telangana model be taken into consideration,” he wrote.Highlighting the transparent and inclusive approach adopted in Telangana, Revanth Reddy noted that the state’s caste census was conducted not behind closed doors or within narrow circles, but with the active participation of society at large. “Not within four walls, with the thoughts of just a few people, but with the entire citizenry of the society, Telangana intellectuals, leaders from various caste groups and from educators, the Telangana government has carried out a caste census with utmost transparency, receiving advice and suggestions. The CWC has mentioned this process in its resolution,” he stated.Calling the exercise a potential catalyst for a “great social revolution,” Revanth Reddy expressed his deep pride that Telangana’s model has been recognised as a template for the rest of the country. “This is a matter of pride for the state of Telangana. Regarding the process that could mark the beginning of a great social revolution, I am extremely proud that Telangana stands as a role model for the entire country,” he remarked.The Chief Minister also extended his gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the census. “I would like to once again congratulate everyone who has made this caste census in Telangana so outstanding and transparent, bringing the state’s prestige to the national level,” he added.
