Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday announced land allocation for two major agro-processing units in Kuppam, aimed at supporting farmers and generating employment in the region.Representatives from the Shreeja Milk Producers Organisation and the Mother Dairy met Naidu in Kuppam to discuss investment proposals in line with the Swarnandhra vision.Following this, the Shreeja dairy has been allocated 40 acres of land for the establishment of a Rs 233-crore dairy and animal feed processing unit. The facility is expected to provide employment to 4,000 people. With a network of over one lakh women farmers, Shreeja plans to improve milk processing efficiency and enhance returns for dairy producers.The proposed cattle feed plant would ensure a steady supply of quality feed, thereby supporting productivity among milch animals and improving milk yields.The Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd would set up a fruit pulp processing facility at Thambi Ganipalli in Shantipuram mandal. The Rs 105.10-crore unit, coming up on 41.22 acres, is expected to create employment for 4,800 people and would benefit over 50,000 farmers through direct procurement of horticultural produce.The chief minister had laid the foundation for this facility.“These investments are part of a broader effort to strengthen the rural economy and support farmers by improving market access and processing infrastructure,” Naidu stated.He added that both companies have been asked to complete their projects in 15 to 18 months.The state industrial infrastructure corporation (APIIC) facilitated the land allocation for both projects, which fall under the development framework of the Kuppam area development authority.The CM said, “We discussed their investment plans to achieve zero poverty, aligned with our vision for Swarna Andhra. Land has been allotted to establish their industrial units, which would directly benefit local farmers and boost rural incomes.”Officials said the two projects together are expected to generate around 8,800 jobs and significantly contribute to the agricultural value chain in the region.
