CBI Completes Probe Into Viveka Murder, Seeks SC's Directions

ANANTAPUR:The CBI on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that the investigations in the 6-year-long former MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case have been completed.
A hearing was held at the Supreme Court bench headed by Justice MM Sundaresh on a petition filed by N. Sunitha, daughter of the deceased Vivekananda Reddy on Tuesday. She opposed the bail granted by the Telangana court for Kadapa MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy of the YSRC, who was an accused in the murder case.
CBI counsel informed the bench that the investigation was completed by now and the agency was ready to take further steps on advice from the court.
In the morning, the case came up for hearing in the SC bench of Justice Sundaresh while junior counsel for the petitioner, N. Sunitha, informed the court that senior counsel was attending in another court and sought a pass-over. He said he would resume the argument in the afternoon session.
CBI counsel presenting its arguments before the court made it clear that there was nothing left to investigate in the murder case. The bench posted the case to August 16.
