BENGALURU: Booker prize-2025 winner Banu Mushtaq will inaugurate Mysore Dasara festivities atop Chamundi Hill in Mysuru on September 22, announced Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and stated an invitation to the noted writer will be given to her by Mysuru District Administration to do the inauguration. Earlier the high-level committee on Mysore Dasara had entrusted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah the task of choosing a dignitary to inaugurate Mysore Dasara festivities which will be held for 11-days this year. The Dasara festivities will come to and on October 2 with the jumbo savaari (5-km elephant march in Mysuru city), the finale of Dasara festivities. In Bengaluru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters Banu Musthtaq has involved herself in farmers’ struggles, fought for the cause of Kannada and termed her a woman with a “progressive” mindset. He disclosed that the Union Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh has given green signal for holding airshow during Mysore Dasara festivities and a letter has been written to Rajnath Singh to witness Mysore Dasara festivities.
