BJP Launches Nationwide Campaign to Promote Domestic Products
In response to recent trade tensions between India and the United States, the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to launch a nationwide campaign to boost the domestic consumption of Indian-made products. The move is aimed at countering the impact of tariff measures imposed by the US President Donald Trump administration, which have strained bilateral ties and caused concern in New Delhi.
The campaign, dubbed “Swadeshi Jagran Abhiyan,” is designed to give a renewed push to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Vocal for Local” initiative. The goal is to encourage Indians to choose homegrown goods over imports, thereby promoting domestic industries and reducing reliance on foreign products.
The campaign was finalized after a high-level meeting at the BJP headquarters, attended by party president JP Nadda and national general secretaries. The plan has also received approval from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leadership. The nationwide campaign is expected to play a significant role in promoting Indian-made products and reducing the country’s dependence on imports.
