Nellore:BJP state unit president P.V.N. Madhav asked party cadres to widely publicise the central government schemes being implemented for the development of villages across the country. Addressing party workers in Nellore on Wednesday, he said the union government has been allocating substantial funds for various rural development initiatives, including construction of cement concrete roads, drains, toilets and Anganwadi centres. “Funds ranging from ₹2 crore to ₹10 crore are being directly transferred to the accounts of village sarpanches to undertake development works,” Madhav pointed out. In this regard, he mentioned that Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments worth ₹10 lakh crore. Highlighting the union government’s commitment to the state, he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving top priority to Andhra Pradesh. He is making every effort to create employment opportunities for unemployed youth. Special attention is being given to establishing major industries under the Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor, which includes Ramayapatnam Port and Krishnapatnam Port in SPSR Nellore district.” The AP BJP president mentioned that Nellore Railway Station is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs₹300 crore. Efforts are underway to establish an airport on land identified near Dagadarthi, he stated. Those present at the meeting included BJP leaders Sannapareddy Suresh Reddy, P. Surendra Reddy, K. Anjaneya Reddy, former MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy, Bharat Kumar Yadav, Raghunadha Raju and Dayakar. Madhav received a rousing reception upon his arrival in Nellore. Earlier, he had participated in a Chai Pe Charcha programme at Vedayapalem.
