Hyderabad: BITS-Pilani Hyderabad start-up Apollyon Dynamics said it had delivered indigenous combat drones to the Indian Army within two months of their launch. The unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) have been delivered to Indian Army formations in Jammu, Chandimandir, Panagarh and Arunachal Pradesh.The defence tech start-up was founded by students of BITS-Pilani Hyderabad who started the defence tech start-up – Hyderabad Jayant Khatri and Sourya Choudhary. Khatri said, “The foundation at BITS Hyderabad empowered us to move fast, build responsibly and solve real world defence challenges.”The team is now working on next-generation vertical take off and landing (VTOL) platforms and fixed wing systems, aiming to further extend mission flexibility and operational reach.Apollyon Dynamics specialises in the design and manufacturing of custom unmanned aerial systems tailored for India’s defence and surveillance needs. Every system is built in-house, focusing on ruggedness, reliability and adaptability to Indian terrains and missions, a statement said.Among its most popular products is a trainer UAV, adopted by the Army for its ease of use and robust design. The start-up provides hands-on training for soldiers.The start-up had recently demonstrated its technology at the BITS-Pilani campus, in presence of Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor of BITS Pilani and chairman of the Aditya Birla Group.
