APCO-Lepakshi MoU to Promote AP’s Rich Cultural Heritage

Vijayawada: AP Handicraft Development Corporation (Lepakshi) and AP State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote the rich cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh.The MoU got signed at APCO’s Central Office in Vijayawada on Friday in the presence of special chief secretary (CS) R.P. Sisodia.Sisodia explained that the MoU sets the stage for both organisations to collaborate in showcasing and selling each other’s premium handloom and handicraft products at their respective showrooms. Further, the initiative aims to enhance market visibility of AP’s artisans and weavers, while providing customers with an enriched shopping experience that reflects the state’s rich tradition.The special CS said, “By joining forces, we are amplifying the voices of our weavers and craftsmen, ensuring their livelihoods, and creating a sustainable ecosystem for traditional arts to thrive. This initiative will not only benefit the stakeholders directly involved but also inspire a greater appreciation for our cultural heritage among the public. “APCO managing director Vishwa Manoharan explained that the MoU outlines specific measures, such as consignment-based exchanges, allocation of showroom space for displays. and implementation of strategic logistics, apart from pricing.These steps are expected to minimise costs while maximising the reach and impact of the two company products.
