AP Partners With Punjab to Offer Dubai Jobs for UAE Returnee Drivers

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation in partnership with the Jalandhar Skill Development Corporation in Punjab would provide employment opportunities in Dubai for drivers from here.This would primarily benefit experienced hands who have returned from the UAE. The initiative, launched under APSSDC’s Skill International Programme, specifically targets trailer and truck drivers with UAE experience, who reside in the Kadapa, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts. The corporation’s MD, Ganesh Kumar, stated that the programme was part of the AP government’s broader strategy to support skilled returnees find reemployment opportunities. “Districts such as Kadapa, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam have large numbers of skilled drivers who have returned from the UAE,” Kumar said, calling upon district officials and local stakeholders to intensify the mobilization efforts. The placement drive offers positions with reputed Dubai-based employers, including the Tristar Group (ADNOC Project), Veolia, Allied Transport, and Dubai Port. Available roles include trailer drivers (diesel tanker/flatbed/container), truck drivers and ITV drivers (for Indian and GCC license holders). Selected candidates can expect monthly salaries ranging from Rs.1,500 to 4,000 (approximately Rs.35,000 to Rs.94,000), along with accommodation, transport, medical insurance, and annual air tickets. Male candidates aged 24 to 48 who hold valid or expired UAE Heavy Vehicle Licences and having a minimum of SSC are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be physically fit and possess basic knowledge in English. The selection process involves driving tests or telephonic interviews. The recruitment drives are scheduled for August 10 for Tristar, Veolia, and Allied Transport positions, and August 30 for ITV driver roles.
