Amaravati: Minister Kondapalli Srinivas clarified that the state government is spending ₹33,000 crore annually on pensions, benefiting 63.71 lakh people. He dismissed allegations that pensions have been cut, stating that only those of deceased beneficiaries are being cancelled.Srinivas accused the previous government of issuing disability certificates to ineligible persons, leading to about 10 lakh wrongful pensions. “So far, we have identified 80,000 ineligible beneficiaries. Action will be taken against those who sanctioned such pensions. No eligible pensioner will lose benefits,” he asserted.
