Earlier in the morning, Yadav and Sai offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath temple ahead of the meeting.Prior to the official proceedings, CM Yogi Adityanath also visited the Kashi Vishwanath and Sankat Mochan temples for rituals and prayers. He performed ‘Panchamrit Abhishek’ at the Vishwanath temple and later sought blessings at the Hanuman temple.Shah, too, arrived a day prior and visited Kaal Bhairav temple with CM Yogi.A light moment unfolded when a priest performed a ritual to ward off the evil eye from Shah, prompting a chuckle from Yogi, who gently signalled the priest to stop.There are five zonal councils in the country, which are statutory bodies set up under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956. These councils provide a common meeting ground to the states and Union territories in each zone for the resolution of inter-state and regional issues, fostering balanced socio-economic regional development and building harmonious Centre-state relations.The last Central Zonal Council meeting was held 20 months ago on October 7, 2023, in Narendra Nagar, Uttarakhand.
