ACB Raids Sub Registrar Offices in Nalgonda, Medak, Mahabubnagar

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted surprise checks at sub registrar offices (SRO) in Bibinagar in Nalgonda, Sadasivpet in Medak and Jadcherla in Mahabubnagar. During the check at SRO in Bibinagar, an unaccounted amount of Rs.61,430 was seized, found 12 unauthorised private agents and document writers within the premises of the office, 93 registered documents which were supposed to be dispatched were found in the custody of SRO staff and surveillance cameras were not in functional condition apart from that several government registers were not maintained. During the check at SRO in Jadcherla, an unaccounted amount of Rs.30,900 was seized found 11 unauthorised private agents and document writers were found in the premises of the office, 20 registered documents which were supposed to be dispatched were found in the custody of SRO staff and several records were not being maintained. During the check at SRO, Sadashivapet unaccounted amount of Rs5,550 was seized, found nine unauthorised private agents and document writers within the premises of the office, 39 registered documents which were supposed to be dispatched were found in the custody of SRO staff and CCTV cameras were not in functional condition apart from that several government were not maintained. There was variation in the personal cash of the staff with the cash register. Several other irregularities were also observed. Report will be sent to the Government for taking necessary action, according to a press release.
