Shivadhar Reddy, VH Appointed as Advisors to State Government



Hyderabad:The state government has appointed former DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy, who retired on Thursday, as state security adviser with the status and rank of Chief Secretary. The government also appointed senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao as adviser, BC welfare and development with the rank of Cabinet minister.Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao issued orders to this effect on Thursday.Shivadhar Reddy is to advise the government on the issues concerning the police, law and orders, internal security, crime control, narcotics control and road safety for a period of three years.The former DGP will be paid a fixed remuneration of `2.25 lakh per month. He is entitled to rent-free accommodation or HRA of 50,000 in lieu of rented or own house; TA & DA on par with the level prior to his retirement and medical reimbursement on par with AIS officers. He will be provided with a government vehicle besides nine staff members including an officer on special duity. private secretary, personal assistant, driver and four office subordinates.Hanumantha Rao was appointed adviser with a salary of `1 lakh per month, HRA of `50,000, conveyance allowance of Rs 30,000, fuel charges of Rs 15,000 per month, medical reimbursement on par with AIS officers/ ministers, five staff members including a personal secretary, driver and two office subordinates. The government will bear the expenses for the phone at residence and also for his mobile phone.The Congress government has appointed 11 advisers since it assumed office in December 2023, and the latest appointments take the number to 13.The 11 advisers appointed earlier include Vem Narender Reddy (advisor to CM, public affairs); Mohammed Ali Shabbir, SC, ST, OBC, minorities welfare; Harkara Venugopal Rao protocol and public relations; Aditya Nath Das irrigation and water resources; K. Keshava Rao public affairs; Pocharam Srinivas Reddy agriculture; A.P. Jithender Reddy (sports); P. Sudarshan Reddy implementation of all flagship welfare and development schemes; and N.V.S. Reddy urban transport.
