Hyderabad: IPS officers of the 1995 and 1996 batches who were promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) called on Director General of Police B. Shivdhar Reddy at the police headquarters here on Thursday.The officers who were promoted on Wednesday included Veerashetty Venkata Srinivasa Rao, Swati Lakra, and Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat from the 1995 batch and Charu Sinha and Dr Anil Kumar from the 1996 batch.Separately, V.C. Sajjanar, also promoted on Wednesday, assumed charge as Hyderabad commissioner of police in the rank of DGP at the old Commissionerate office in Basheerbagh.Several senior police officials met him, presented floral bouquets, and extended their heartiest congratulations and best wishes. In a message, Sajjanar said: “Pleased to share that I have been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) and will continue to serve as commissioner of police, Hyderabad city, in this new rank. Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.”
