Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Telangana Over Next Four Days



Hyderabad: The Meteorological department has issued a multi-day thunderstorm warning for Telangana, forecasting light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places across the state from April 19 to April 23, 2026. According to the forecast, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph are very likely at isolated locations in several districts during this period. From 0830 hrs on April 19 to 0830 hrs on April 20, affected districts may include Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, and Kamareddy, according to the forecast bulletin. For April 20–21, similar weather conditions are expected in districts including Karimnagar and Peddapalli in addition to several northern and central Telangana regions. On April 21–22, the warning expands to include Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts along with earlier affected areas. From April 22–23, thunderstorms are likely in districts including Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and others across northern and central Telangana. Authorities have advised residents in affected areas to remain cautious, as lightning activity and gusty winds may cause temporary disruption in some locations.
