Ballari: One person was injured during a routine para training exercise in Ballari on Friday and was airlifted to Bengaluru.According to sources, an area in PD Halli of Ballari district, located along the Karnataka–Andhra Pradesh border, has long been used as a drop zone for para training exercises. Aircraft take off from Bengaluru, with participants landing in the outskirts of Ballari. Sources said a similar exercise was being conducted on Friday. An officer who was a part of the jump sustained injuries during the exercise at around 11.30 am and was immediately airlifted to Bengaluru by helicopter. The training exercises are conducted except during the monsoon, and also sometimes continue for several days, sources added.
