Hyderabad: The Centre’s Directorate-General Fire Services Civil Defence and Home Guards has awarded ten fire services personnel the bronze disc and commendation certificate in recognition of their outstanding service. This is the first time such a large number of personnel from Telangana Fire Services have received the award.According to a press note issued Thursday, the award is a high-level commendation given to personnel from the D-G, under the Union ministry of home, for exemplary duty, bravery and exceptional service. The recognition is accompanied by a commendation certificate and is considered a prestigious honour for meritorious contribution. The awardees from Telangana include B. Sudhakar, Gowliguda station fire officer; leading fire fighters G Yadagiri (Secretariat); Md Ghouse Pasha (Gadwal); Gadde Krishna Prasad (Wyra, Khammam); fire fighter technical Sara Rajeshwar (Hayathnagar); Vagadani Ram Babu Khammam); K. Vinod Kumar (snorkel, Hyderabad), and fire fighters M. Pravithan (Gowliguda), G. Rakesh Kumar (High Court) and Juttukonda Venkateshwarlu (Huzurnagar, Nalgonda). Vikram Singh Mann, Director General of Telangana fire, disaster response, emergency and civil defence department, congratulated the awardees and said the recognition would motivate personnel to continue serving the public with greater dedication and promote awareness on fire safety in society.
