Karimnagar: Telangana DGP, Shivadhar Reddy, inaugurated a state-of-the-art residential complex for police personnel constructed by the Police Housing Corporation at a cost of Rs 12.29 crore at the IB colony in Godavarikhani, Peddapalli district, on Sunday.The facility includes dedicated quarters for an ACP, Reserve Inspectors, RSIs and ARSIs alongside modern housing units for head constables and constables.The DGP noted that providing superior living conditions for the force is essential for strengthening the policing system and boosting the morale of the cops.The DGP presided over a high-level review meeting at the Ramagundam police commissionerate, attended by commissioner AK Jha and senior officials from the Peddapalli and Mancherial zones.The DGP stressed on public safety, citing the mantra, ‘Life is more important than speed’. He directed officials to transform the state government’s ‘Arrive-Alive’ initiative into a massive public movement to combat the growing menace of road accidents.The top cop asked the police to organise awareness sessions in every town and village during the last week of every month, involving citizens to promote defensive driving, mandatory helmet usage and seatbelt compliance.The DGP alerted the force to the evolving landscape of cybercrime, urging every officer to stay technologically adapted to protect the public from digital frauds.The event was attended by the multi-zone IG Chandrasekhar Reddy, TGSPHCS chairman Gurnath Reddy and several other police officials from the Ramagundam police commissionerate.
