Amaravati: The APSDMA warned of high temperatures and heatwave conditions across several parts of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.High temperatures are likely to prevail in Krishna, NTR, Palnadu, Markapuram, Prakasam, Nellore, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Kadapa, Annamayya, Chittoor and Tirupati districts, while heatwave conditions are expected in north coastal districts, Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) Managing Director Prakhar Jain said in an official release.He further said that severe heatwave conditions are likely in 19 mandals, while 35 mandals may experience heatwave impact on Sunday. He noted that heat intensity has been rising across the state, with temperature exceeding 40 degrees Celsius recorded in 200 mandals on April 11.On Saturday, the highest temperature recorded were 44.7 degrees Celsius in Pottipadu in Kadapa district, 44.3 degrees in Kommipadu in Nellore district, 44.2 degrees in Varadayyapalem in Tirupati district, and 42.8 degrees in Gospadu in Nandyal district and Kopperapadu in Prakasam district. Similarly, heatwave conditions are expected to prevail in a total of 70 mandals on Monday, he added. The APSDMA advised people to remain alert to heatwaves and humid conditions.
