Nalgonda: Nalgonda district collector Badugu Chandrashekhar on Friday instructed municipal commissioners to accord special focus to sanitation maintenance in towns across the district.The collector conducted a surprise early-morning inspection of Sri Krishna Colony in Nalgonda municipality, where he reviewed sanitation works being carried out by sanitation workers. He also interacted with residents and sought feedback on civic amenities, including sanitation and drinking water supply. Addressing officials, he said municipal commissioners must give top priority to cleanliness in municipal colonies and ensure that drainage canals are cleaned regularly. He directed Nalgonda municipal commissioner Syed Musab Ahmad to impose fines on those found dumping waste on roads and to closely monitor drinking water supply, stressing that it should receive the highest priority.The collector also inspected Mothi Kunta, a pond located near Yadava Sangam Bhavan, where restoration works are being taken up under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. He said the pond would be restored to its original condition.The Nalgonda municipal commissioner briefed the collector on the measures being implemented to maintain cleanliness in various colonies of the town.
