Hyderabad: City traffic police said in a statement that during a special drive they had booked 460 drunk drivers over the weekend. Among them were 350 were two-wheeler riders. Police identified the deceased as Sam, a cook who had been working at various function venues. He had fallen unconscious while returning from a catering assignment in LB Nagar. Fearing complications, his co-workers dropped him near the Keesara ORR instead of taking him to a hospital. The family did not lodge a complaint, took the body to their native village after postmortem, and completed the funeral rites there, police said. “No case has been registered,” Meerpet police confirmed. Rowdy-Sheeter Attacked, KilledHyderabad: Around six persons travelling on two bikes waylaid a 34-year-old rowdy sheeter in Saheednagar and attacked him with knives, killing him on the spot on Saturday night, Pahadishareef police said on Sunday. The victim, Shaik Amer, was heading towards his house the gang intercepted his bike and pushed him. When he fell to the ground, the gang stabbed him multiple times and fled. Informed by locals, police conducted a panchanama and shifted Amer’s body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.Pahadishareef police said that Amer and his associates were booked in January 2024 for the murder of one Mubarak. Police suspected that Mubarak’s associates could have attacked Amer. Police said Srinikethan held a blade to the throat of Kabir Shaik, took his mobile phone and forced him to go to a wine shop and made him pay the money and took liquor. Banjara Hills station house officer K.M. Raghavendra said the incident occurred last week but police traced Srinikethan through CTV camera footage and arrested him.
