Hyderabad: The city woke up to an intense cold wave on Friday, with temperatures dipping to their lowest levels in seven years. Several parts of the city recorded unusually frigid conditions early on December 12, shocking residents and disrupting morning routines. According to local weather observations, the University of Hyderabad area was the coldest, plunging to 6.3°C, followed by Moulali at 7.1°C and Rajendra Nagar at 7.7°C. Many other neighbourhoods also shivered in single-digit temperatures: Sivarampalle: 8.8°C Alwal: 9.0°C Gachibowli: 9.1°C Bollarum: 9.3°C Maredpally: 10.1°C Quthbullapur: 10.2°C Jeedimetla: 11°C Officials noted that more temperature updates from across Telangana are expected soon.
