With 48.49% turnout, counting is spread across 10 rounds, while BJP’s Lankala Deepak Reddy trails far behind.Nuapada bypollIn Nuapada, counting began under a three-tier security arrangement. After 8 of 26 rounds, BJP candidate Jay Dholakia has amassed 41,520 votes, stretching his lead to 28,888 votes. BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria remains in second spot with 12,632 votes, while Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi trails with 10,649 votes.The high-stakes bypoll recorded an impressive 83.45% turnout, the highest among all eight seats that went to polls on November 11. The bypoll was necessitated by the death of BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia.Nagrota, Budgam bypollIn Jammu’s Nagrota, BJP candidate Devyani Rana won the bypolls with 42,183 votes. Her closest rival was former minister Harsh Dev Singh who secured 17,661 votes while NC’s Shamim Begum got 10,834 votes.PDP’s Aga Muntazir is leading in Budgam seat as NC candidate trails.Rana was ahead with a lead of 5,267 votes over Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) candidate Harsh Dev Singh.By the end of the third round, the BJP polled 11,581 votes, while the JKNPP candidate secured 4,280 votes, followed by National Conference candidate Shamim Begum with 2,464 votes.Devyani Rana, the daughter of BJP MLA Devender Rana whose demise necessitated the by-election in Nagrota, has established a lead from the start.Tarn Taran bypollIn Punjab’s Tarn Taran, AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu was leading with 3,668 votes against his nearest rival and Shiromani Akali Dal nominee Sukhwinder Kaur RandhawaHarmeet Singh Sandhu had 20,454 votes against Randhawa’s 16,786 after the eighth round of counting was completed, the Election Commission website showed.Independent candidate Mandeep Singh was in the third spot with 9,162 votes while Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj was fourth with 8,760 votes. BJP’s Harjit Singh Sandhu was a distant fifth with 2,302 votes.The constituency saw 60.95% polling and went to bypolls following the death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal.
