NFHS-6 Indicator Fact Sheet to Be Made Public

The National Family Health Survey-6 (NFHS-6) report has faced a prolonged delay in its release. However, the International Institute of Public Health in Mumbai is set to release the indicators and fact sheets of the report to assist state governments in planning various health and family planning schemes.

According to officials from the Institute of Social and Economic Change, who were involved in preparing the NFHS-6, the Union government’s delay in releasing the report has been the primary cause of the holdup. The release of the indicators and district-wise fact sheets by the IIPH is expected to aid state governments and local authorities in making informed decisions.

The fact sheets and data will be made available to the public in a month’s time, allowing individuals to provide their inputs on key issues such as maternal and child health, mortality rates, family planning, and the government’s initiatives. This will enable a more comprehensive understanding of the current health landscape and identify areas that require improvement.
