Hyderabad: Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) along with the police conducted a joint enforcement activity at Kotapally check post in Chennur, and seized huge stocks of medicines that were being shipped illegally to Maharashtra without a valid drug licence and invoices. Acting on credible information, the DCA and police conducted the enforcement activity leading to seizure of huge stocks of medicines. During the raid, 26 varieties of medicines were seized from Burri Ravi Kumar of Beglur in Karimnagar, and 37 varieties of medicines were seized from Gajji Mahesh of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district. Antibiotics, analgesics, anti-ulcer drugs, antifungal drugs, cough syrups, etc., were seized, all worth over Rs.30,000. DCA Director-General, Shahnawaz Qasim said the public may report any complaints regarding illegal activities related to medicines, as well as any other suspected manufacturing activities concerning drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas through DCA’s toll-free number 1800-599-6969, operational from 10.30 am to 5 pm on all working days.
