SC Allows Release of Sterilised, Vaccinated Stray Dogs

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has modified its August 11 direction regarding stray dogs. The Court stated that stray dogs picked up by authorities should be released from shelters after undergoing sterilisation and immunisation. However, dogs infected with rabies or displaying aggressive behaviour will not be released. The decision aims to balance public safety with animal welfare, ensuring humane population control of stray dogs.
