Bengaluru: A boy Charan (13), a resident of Sidlaghatta town of Chikkaballapura district came under attack from a pack of stray dogs at Netaji stadium before he was rescued by youths at the stadium on Wednesday. The injured boy has been shifted to District Hospital for his injuries after initial treatment at Sidlaghatta hospital. Doctors who treated the boy stated “multiple injuries.”The attack took place between 4.30 pm to 5 pm. It may be recalled here, a couple of years back, stray dogs mauled a boy and another was bitten by stray dogs causing serious injuries to him. After attending school, Charan went to Netaji stadium in Sidlaghatta along with his friends and as soon as he arrived at the entrance, he came under attack from a pack of stray dogs numbering about 30. The attack on the boy was noticed by youths playing cricket at the stadium and they rushed to his rescue. They succeeded in driving the stray dogs away by hurling stones at them. An eye witness said “We rushed to rescue the boy from stray dogs attack and they managed to rescue the boy. The rescued boy was taken to a hospital in Sidlaghatta before he was shifted to District Hospital in Chikkaballapura where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.” Eye witness accounts the boy was bleeding when he was rescued from a pack of dogs. City Municipal Council, Sidlaghatta officials stated a few non-governmental organisations and dog catchers have been contacted to catch stray dogs and soon steps will be initiated. The officials stated earlier tenders were invited to catch stray dogs but none came forward.
