NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was reportedly assaulted on Thursday morning during a ‘Jan Sunwai’ event held at her official residence in Civil Lines, according to the Bharatiya Janata Party.According to a senior police officer, the man has been detained and further inquiry is underway.Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva strongly condemned the alleged attack, which occurred during the CM’s weekly outreach programme.Party sources claimed that the attacker, believed to be around 35 years old, approached the chief minister under the pretext of submitting documents. After handing over some papers, he allegedly launched the attack.Further details are awaited.
