Visakhapatnam: Several trains were cancelled due to traffic blocks for the pre-non-interlock and non-interlock works in connection with the commissioning of the third line, the Parvatipuram-Sitanagaram-Bobbili-Donkinavalasa section in Waltair Division.Train No. 58528 Visakhapatnam-Raipur passenger leaving Visakhapatnam is cancelled from August 19 to August 27 and the train in the reverse direction, Train No. 58527 is cancelled from August 20 to August 28. Train No. 58538 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger leaving Visakhapatnam from August 19 to August 27 has been cancelled. In the reverse direction, Train No.58537 is cancelled from August 20 to August 28. Train No. 58504 Visakhapatnam-Bhawanipatna passenger leaving Visakhapatnam from August 19 to August 27 is also cancelled. The train in the reverse direction, Train No. 58503, is cancelled from August 20 to August 28. Massive outflows from Srisailam dam Kurnool: To manage the rising reservoir levels amid heavy inflows, Srisailam dam authorities released 4,03,607 cusecs of water to the Nagarjunasagar reservoir on Monday by opening 10 radial crest gates up to a height of 12 feet at 6.30 pm. The reservoir is receiving a massive inflow of 3,00,174 cusecs from the Jurala and Sunkesula projects.Following the release of water from the Tungabhadra dam on Monday, inflows have increased into the Kurnool region, leading to heavy discharges from Sunkesula into Srisailam. By 8 pm, Sunkesula was receiving 92,000 cusecs and releasing 89,338 cusecs downstream. From Srisailam, 30,000 cusecs are being diverted to the Pothireddypadu head regulator, 32,818 cusecs to canals, 30,784 cusecs to the right bank powerhouse, and 35,315 cusecs to the left bank powerhouse for power generation. In addition, 3,04,210 cusecs are being released through the spillway. Meanwhile, Jurala is receiving 1,35,254 cusecs and releasing 1,36,168 cusecs downstream. Nakkapalli PHC to be 100-bedded hospital: HMVisakhkapatnam: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha said the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Nakkapalli would be expanded into a 100-bedded hospital soon from the present 30-bed strength. The home minister has interacted with the patients and enquired about the services being provided at the centre during her visit to the CHC on Monday. The Nakkapalli Health Centre at present is catering to the needs of 400 outpatients.Later she told the media that a trauma care centre would be started soon at this CHC as many accident cases were being reported frequently. She said more services would be provided here as the outpatients’ number was increasing. “The NDA government’s aim is to provide the best of the health services to the people,’’ she said. Anitha inaugurated several facilities on the occasion which included X-Ray plant worth `17.5 lakh for which funds were provided by the government, C-ARM machine for which the government provided `18.5 lakh, oxygen plant worth `10.5 lakh with funds donated by Deccan Chemicals under CSR funds, medical tools worth `12.5 provided by Hetero group of companies which also donated `7 lakh for hospital painting. The minister also inaugurated a computer room and library worth `41.5 lakh in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya. She later interacted with the girl students of the school. Relief for Kakani in High Court, likely to be released today Nellore: Senior YSRC leader and former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy has secured bail from the AP High Court in connection with an illegal mining case, paving the way for his release from Nellore Central Jail.Kakani has been lodged in the jail for the past 84 days as a remand prisoner. With the bail order, he is likely to be released by Tuesday morning. Party workers and supporters in Nellore district have expressed happiness over the development. The former minister is facing a slew of cases — around 15 in total — ranging from illegal mining, forgery of government land records and unauthorised transportation of gravel, for setting up a private check post near Krishnapatnam Port. He has also been booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act and in cases relating to alleged liquor dumping. While Kakani has secured bail, several other YSRC leaders implicated in the illegal mining case continue to remain behind bars. 6.18 lakh smart ration cards to be issued in Eluru Kakinada: Civil supplies minister and Eluru district incharge minister Nadendla Manohar said that the alliance government would provide smart ration cards in the place of the present white ration cards and6,18,864 smart cards, including 8550 new cards, would be issued in Eluru District. He participated in the District Review Meeting at Eluru on Monday. He said that 34,838 Antyodaya cards were issued to the beneficiaries including tribal people in agency areas. He instructed the officials to speed up the setting up of MSME parks in the district. He also said that due to technical mistakes in Aadhar numbers, survey numbers and others, some of the farmers could not get Annadatha Sukhibhava amounts, and such farmers should apply before August 20. Housing minister K. Pradha Saradhi said that the agriculture officials should take steps for increasing nano fertilisers and natural farming. MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, district collector K.
