VIJAYAWADA: Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has said the victory of Telugu Desam candidates in the ZPTC by-elections of Pulivendula and Ontimitta mandals brought joy to the people of these mandals.Kalyan conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Latha Reddy and Muddukrishna Reddy, who won the two seats. He said, “During the last local body elections, not even a nomination was allowed there. Those who wanted to file nominations were attacked and threatened. Now, there is an opportunity to contest elections democratically.” The deputy CM stated that the nomination process was carried out as per the rules. The candidates campaigned, polling was held and the public clearly expressed its verdict. I congratulate the police officers, staff and officers on election duty who took action without any scope for violence during the polling.”
