Hyderabad:HYDRAA removed major encroachments on Neknampur lake in Puppalaguda raised by Pooja Crafted Homes on Tuesday, and irrigation authorities filed a police complaint against the builder. The company had raised labour sheds in the full tank level and buffer zones of the lake.HYDRAA stated that Pooja Crafted Homes illegally dumped silt, soil and construction debris into the waters to create land, and raised labour sheds on top of it. HYDRAA removed the structures, and also used JCBs and tippers to remove the illegally dumped soil and silt into the lake and filled it on the builder’s land.Additionally, irrigation authorities filed a police complaint against Pooja Crafted Homes for illegally dumping soil and raising sheds on Neknampur lake’s FTL and buffer zone with Narsingi police. The road remains closed and barricaded for safety.The damage occurred after a trench dug for trial pit excavation collapsed. “To avoid any stagnation, we have diverted the sewage flow to the downstream manhole while repairs are underway,” said Mahender Nayak, general manager of the division. “As the affected stretch is an internal road, traffic is not affected. Ltd to refund `43.48 lakh to a homebuyer, along with 11 per cent annual interest within 45 days for failing to start construction for its Happy Homes project at Shamirpet.Despite paying the full amount, the buyer said the project never took off, no permissions were obtained and she was left paying both rent and home loan EMIs. She also alleged that the builder neither refunded her money nor paid rent compensation promised in the sale agreement.RERA found that the project was not registered with the authority. The case was decided ex-parte after the builder failed to appear for hearings despite multiple notices.Qurrah for Pilgrims on WednesdayHyderabad:The Haj Committee of India will conduct Qurrah (digital random selection) for pilgrims for 2026 on Wednesday at 11.30 am at its headquarters in Mumbai. Selection process will be conducted online and live streamed on its official website. The list of provisionally selected and waitlisted applicants will be published on Haj Committee of India website and notified through SMS. Raids were also conducted in Mumbai, Delhi and Madurai.It was reported that the betting apps organisers had cheated customers to the tune of crores of rupees. It was reported that the ED officers conducted raids at three different places in Hyderabad.The suspects used mule accounts to receive funds looted from betting apps users. Based on the details furnished by banks, the ED, Mumbai teams conducted a search operation to identify the mule accounts holder who submitted residential addresses of Hyderabad city.
