Kurnool: CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah of facilitating the presence of fake votes in elections. Speaking at a rally on Saturday, he referenced a statement by a BJP leader in Bengaluru, who claimed that one lakh fake votes were cast in a single Assembly constituency. Ramakrishna alleged that the Election Commission of India (ECI) is acting in favor of the BJP. He asserted that the BJP is manipulating the voting process to secure votes while eliminating others. Ramakrishna emphasised that the issue of fake votes is a national concern that requires everyone’s attention. He announced that the CPI will hold its state conference in Ongole from August 23 to 25 and pledged to oppose the Modi government on this issue. The CPI leader also questioned Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s silence on the matter and accused the BJP of attempting to change the Constitution.
