Kurnool: TD state general secretary and Kurnool Urban Development Authority (Kuda) chairman Somisetty Venkateswarlu accused YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of being involved in massive corruption during his tenure as chief minister. He alleged that Jagan, who came to power by invoking the name of his late father Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy, seeking public sympathy, engaged in large-scale irregularities, including a ₹3,500-crore liquor scam in the state.Speaking at a press meet on Sunday, Venkateswarlu pointed out that YSRC MP Mithun Reddy was already arrested in connection with the liquor scam and questioned why Jagan visited him in jail. “If Jagan is not involved in the scam, why did he go to meet Mithun Reddy in jail? Was he afraid that Mithun Reddy might take his name during interrogation?” he asked. He alleged that Jagan was the prime conspirator behind the liquor scam and that his jail visit was an attempt to ensure Mithun Reddy does not disclose his role. The TDP leader said people are shocked as one scam after another committed during the YSRCP regime is coming to light. He further stated that the people have lost trust in Jagan Mohan Reddy and are now expressing satisfaction with the governance under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Citizens are saying they are happy under Chandrababu’s administration and have no intention of trusting Jagan again, he added.Venkateswarlu said that the coalition government has launched the ‘Suparipalanalo tholi adugu’ programme to identify and resolve public issues at the grassroots level. He said the party is moving forward by directly engaging with people, understanding their problems, and addressing them with priority.
