Lokesh Promises To Resolve Grievances

VIJAYAWADA: Education Minister Nara Lokesh hosted a Praja Darbar at his residence on Wednesday, in which people from across the state gathered to personally meet the minister and present their problems and grievances.The minister personally interacted with each visitor, received petitions and assured them of his commitment to address their issues. A representative of farmers from Mallavalli in Krishna district, D Venkatraghava Rao, raised their grievances about pending compensation for lands acquired for the AP industrial infrastructure corporation in 2016. He noted that several farmers were yet to receive due compensation. Lokesh promised to investigate the matter and ensure that farmers received compensation. A resident from Bapatla, Vishnu Doppalapudi, complained about a fraud of `1.77 crore allegedly perpetrated by K Rajabhaskara Reddy, an associate of former YSR Congress MLA Dwarampudi Chandrashekar Reddy. Vishnu urged the minister to investigate the matter and ensure justice to him. He expressed his concern over “wrongful” cases filed against him and threats to his life during the YSR term. The minister assured him that appropriate remedial action would be taken. Pulapa Mangamma from Gundimeda village in the Mangalagiri constituency pleaded for revival of widow pensions that were discontinued under the YSR term. In a poignant plea, Tirumani Vimal Raju from Pedapulipaka village in Krishna district sought financial assistance through the CM’s relief fund for his four-year-old son’s heart surgery, citing their meager income as daily laborers. The minister promised the family necessary support. Golla Simhachalam from Hiramandal sought release of funds to complete the construction of a lift irrigation project in his area. He pointed out that the project, initiated in 2018, had come to a standstill due to unpaid bills during the YSR term. Lokesh promised to do the needful. Representatives of the AP social security employees association complained that their salaries were delayed for their work on DRDA, Velugu, and Chandranna insurance call centre services for the past two months. The Sri Balaji flower merchants welfare association urged the minister to grant toll booth permission for transporting flowers from Tirupati to Tirumala. They said the business faced challenges after permits were suspended since 2023. Representatives of the state housing corporation’s outsourced employees association requested the minister to provide job security to 2,400 outsourced employees who have been working for the past 19 years under such an arrangement. They also requested that priority be given to these employees for appointments to senior and junior assistant positions in the corporation. The minister told them that their concerns would be examined and suitable action taken.
