No Industries Will Leave Karnataka Due to Land Concerns, Says M.B. Patil

Bengaluru: Minister of Large and Medium Scale Industries M.B. Patil on Wednesday categorically stated the State Government will not allow any of the industries to shift their base over lack of land to set-up their units.The Minister’s response was with regard to Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh extending an invitation to industries to shift to his State after the Karnataka Government dropped land acquisition of 1,777 acres in 13 villages of Channarayapatna hobli of Devanahalli in Bengaluru Rural district for setting up an aerospace park. The State Government under pressure from farmers announced to drop land acquisition.Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Patil brought to the notice of Nara Lokesh the availability of land is not only the determining factor and it requires a robust ecosystem which plays a crucial role and stated “Karnataka is a major contributor to the country’s aerospace and defence sectors, accounting for nearly 65 percent of the national share.”Continuing, Patil said “Karnataka has immense potential and I am an able minister. We have adequate land not only for aerospace park and defense but for artificial intelligence, IT and other industries to come up and reteriated “We will not let a single industrialist leave the State over non-availability of lands.”For industries to thrive in Karnataka, Patil said an integrated plan worth Rs 3,600 crore has been prepared to guarantee water supply to industrial areas across the State and stated “We go beyond land allocation and ensure adequate supply of water, power and other essential infrastructure.”
