Hyderabad:In a first under the newly enacted Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), a local court ordered the attachment of immovable properties worth crores acquired through alleged proceeds of fraud in the NTR district in Andhra Pradesh.The order was issued on July 7 by Second AJCJ-cum-X Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate Racharla Shalini in Crime No. 416/2025 under Sections 318(4), 316(5), 316(2), and 61(2) of the BNSS, registered at the Gachibowli police station.According to the police, the accused, a private company employee, allegedly inflated invoices and freight charges in collusion with others, diverting several crores into bank accounts of associates. These funds were then used to purchase 14 acres of land in Kalagara, Visannapeta, and Chandrupetla villages of NTR district, Andhra Pradesh.“We had filed a petition seeking attachment under Section 107 of the BNSS and after hearing both sides, allowed the petition and directed the sub-registrar offices concerned to restrict any transactions involving the said properties,” said Gachibowli Inspector Mohd Habibullah Khan.While the police have not officially disclosed the name of the accused or any explicit case details, they said the order marks a milestone in white-collar crime investigations under BNSS.
