HYDERABAD: Former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao welcomed the switching on of motors at the Kalwakurthy project on Tuesday by minister Jupally Krishna Rao, and said that the government had taken the BRS’ advice on the matter.In a statement, Harish Rao said that it had become a practice for the government to wake up to reality only after repeated and strong prodding by the BRS. It may be recalled that Harish Rao a couple of days ago, had criticised the government for not using the Kalwakurthy project for irrigation. On Tuesday, Harish Rao said the government must now listen to the BRS again and switch on the motors at the Kaleshwaram project’s pumphouses to fill the reservoirs down the line and begin providing irrigation water to farmers.
