Anantapur: Whip and Rayadurg MLA Kalava Srinivasulu said that Krishna waters will fill the BT Project to irrigate dry lands in the Rayadurg and Kalyanadurgam areas in the Anantapur district within one and a half years.On Saturday, Whip Kalava Srinivasulu, along with Kalyanadurgam MLA A. Surendra Babu offered pujas and restarted five-year-long pending works to connect a canal from Jeedipalli Reservoir to the BT project in the Rayadurg area.The works were reportedly stopped during the previous government, and the Rayadurg MLA succeeded in getting the necessary allocation of funds for the project. Srinivasulu restarted works at Pobbarlapalli in Brahmasamudram mandal.He said that CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, during his recent visit to Rayadurg, cleared a 60 km long canal from Jeedipalli Reservoir towards the BT project in Brahmasamudram mandal to fill with HNSS water.Kalyanadurgam MLA A. Surendra Babu said he was firm on completion of the works withinschedule. MP Ambika Narayana, collector Dr Vinod Kumar, and several other officials were present.
