Uttam Revealed Govt's Hidden Agenda Against BRS: Harish

Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao on Saturday said irrigation minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy had “revealed” the government’s hidden agenda with his “premature announcement of action” on anyone found guilty of taking wrong decisions on the Kaleshwaram project.Reacting to Uttam Kumar Reddy’s declaration to this effect on Friday, Harish Rao, in a statement, said “I am committed to defending the Kaleshwaram project. The BRS is ready to present facts anytime, anywhere. But Uttam Kumar Reddy’s premature announcement of action post-inquiry, reveals a hidden agenda.”Uttam Kumar Reddy had said that once the government receives the Justice P.C. Ghose commission of inquiry’s report, action will be taken against all those found guilty by the commission.Harish Rao accused Uttam Kumar Reddy of “peddling lies and spreading propaganda by making baseless claims on the Kaleshwaram project as part of the Congress party’s ongoing misinformation campaign against the project.”He said Uttam Kumar Reddy was repeating falsehoods in a misguided belief that the public would be swayed by the persistent propaganda. “It unfortunate that this has become the single-point agenda for Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy,” the BRS leader said, adding “Uttam Kumar Reddy’s talk about corruption is hypocritical, it is like ghosts reciting scriptures, and tigers preaching vegetarianism.”Harish Rao also said the state government was being a silent spectator even as Andhra Pradesh was actively stealing water from Godavari river. “The Centre has given an immoral permission to get `40,000 crore for the `80,000 crore project through loans beyond the FRBM limits on Andhra Pradesh,” Harish Rao said. The AP Reorganisation Act mandates that any project on Godavari and Krishna rivers must have their respective river board permissions, he said.“This is a failure of the Telangana government. It has no courage to question the Centre, or fight with AP for the rights of this state,” Harish Rao said. “Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy must take up this issue at the Niti Aayog meeting and stop AP from exploiting Telangana’s share of the river waters.”
