I Will Meet PM For 50 Times For Funds, Says Revanth

Sangareddy:Asserting that the interests of Telangana were supreme for him, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said he was ready to work closely with the Centre and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi 50 times, if required, to secure funds for the development of the state.Addressing a public meeting in Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district on Friday, Revanth Reddy said that political rhetoric would be reserved for elections, and his focus would remain on governance and public welfare.”I will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi another 50 times or as many times as required to seek the release of funds due to Telangana,” Revanth Reddy said, stressing his intent to set aside politics for the state’s progress. “After elections, my only aim is development and welfare of people,” he added.Revanth Reddy announced that Hyundai Motor Company will soon begin operations from the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Zaheerabad, a project that had stagnated under the previous BRS regime. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for works worth ₹487 crore in the Zaheerabad constituency, unveiled a statue of Basaveshwara, inaugurated a Kendriya Vidyalaya building and promised more support for self-help groups, including petrol pump allotments for women.“Since the Congress government assumed office in December 2023, we have accelerated land acquisition and increased compensation for affected families,” the Chief Minister said, adding that `12,600 acres were acquired with enhanced packages and that 5,612 displaced families would get houses under the Indiramma scheme. He urged BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao to attend the Assembly sessions and engage in constructive debate. “A true people’s representative should stand by citizens, whether in power or not,” he said, criticising Rao for avoiding people and remaining confined to his farmhouse after he lost power.Highlighting his own journey, Revanth Reddy said, “I served as ZPTC, MLC, MLA, MP, and TPCC chief for 20 years, mostly out of power. I never distanced myself from people. Even now, as the Chief Minister, I meet everyone without discrimination.”He criticised Rao for failing to fulfill promises, particularly the pledge to provide a job for every household. “He ensured jobs only for his family during the BRS regime,” Revanth Reddy said, while affirming that the Congress government has been actively filling vacant posts and lobbying the Centre for Telangana’s growth. He recalled the legacy of former PM Indira Gandhi, who once represented Medak in the Lok Sabha. “Indira Gandhi’s win here made Patancheru a Mini India with huge industrial development. The Congress will never forget Medak’s contribution,” he said. The Chief Minister promised eco-tourism development at Singur dam, new underpasses on National Highways in Sangareddy, and offered 100 acres in NIMZ for a cooperative-run sugar factory. He listed his government’s achievements, including Rs 21,000 crore crop loan waiver, Rs 5,500 crore for free bus rides for women, Rs 500 LPG cylinders, `500 bonus for fine variety paddy and uninterrupted free power for farmers.
