Visakhapatnam: Two weather systems are likely to bring heavy rain to the state and activate the southwest monsoon, which is expected to onset over Kerala around May 27. The IMD, Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday said a low-pressure area is likely to form over west-central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal around May 27, and it is likely to become more marked during the subsequent two days.The agency anticipates that this system will intensify over the next two days, potentially altering weather conditions in the surrounding areas.Meanwhile, another low-pressure system, which has developed in the eastern Central Arabian Sea, is poised to intensify into a depression within the next 36 hours, according to meteorological predictions. This weather system is expected to chart a northward path as it deepens into a depression.According to the India meteorological department, the system is likely to move northwards, with potential strengthening in the coming days. The weather department stated that the low-pressure area is likely to develop further into a depression within the subsequent 36 hours.The IMD said the state received excess rainfall in this month from May 1 to May 21.During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday, Palakonda (Parvathipuram Manyam district) received the highest rainfall of 12.5 cm, Araku Valley 4.4 cm, and Parvathipuram town 3.6 cm.
