Visakhapatnam: Two weather systems are likely to bring heavy rain to the state and activate the southwest monsoon, which is expected to onset over Kerala around May 27. The weather department stated that the low-pressure area is likely to develop further into a depression within the subsequent 36 hours.The IMD said the state received excess rainfall in this month from May 1 to May 21.During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday, Palakonda (Parvathipuram Manyam district) received the highest rainfall of 12.5 cm, Araku Valley 4.4 cm, and Parvathipuram town 3.6 cm.
