Hyderabad: The Metro Rail authorities have confirmed that the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Phase-II (B) corridors—JBS to Medchal, JBS to Shameerpet and Airport to Future City—have been fully prepared and were approved by the Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML) Board on May 8. The proposed JBS–Shameerpet route spans 22 kilometres, including a 1.65 km underground stretch.Managing director of HAML N.V.S. Reddy stated that the DPRs are currently under government review. He emphasised that certain details must remain confidential until the state government grants its approval. The DPRs, he said, were comprehensively prepared in line with central government guidelines, metro construction estimates in other states and Hyderabad’s traffic needs. Full details will be released once the state government clears the DPRs and forwards them to the central government.Reddy noted that the proposals include turning JBS into an international transit hub, as per the directions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The completed DPRs cover three corridors—JBS–Medchal, JBS–Shameerpet, and Airport–Future City—totalling 86.1 kilometres, with an estimated cost of Rs 19,579 crore.Reddy informed that the JBS–Medchal corridor will be fully elevated, stretching 24.5 km with 18 stations. The JBS–Shameerpet corridor will cover 22 km with 14 stations—20.35 km elevated and 1.65 km underground near Hakimpet Airport. The RGIA–Future City (Skill University) corridor will be 39.6 km long, including 1.5 km underground from the airport, 21 km elevated, and 17 km at grade. The line will connect Shamshabad International Airport to Skills University via Pedda Golconda and Raviryala ORR exits.
