Visakhapatnam: The 79th meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) was conducted on Thursday at the Waltair division. Lalit Bohra, divisional railway manager of Waltair, chaired the meeting.He released the latest edition of the TOLIC magazine “Visakha-Bharati”, followed by a PowerPoint presentation detailing the various programmes and initiatives undertaken by member offices over the past year.Anirban Vishwas, deputy director of the regional implementation office in Bangalore, participated virtually through Google Meet.The officials honoured six member offices for their work in promoting Hindi as the official language. The awards were categorised into large and small office divisions.In the large office category, East Coast Railway claimed the top honour, with customs and excise securing second place and NSTL earning third position. Among smaller offices, Kendriya Vidyalaya-II/Vizianagaram (104 Area) achieved first place, while FSI and CIFT were awarded second and third positions, respectively.Beyond the top three positions in each category, seven additional offices received commendation certificates for their contributions to Rajbhasha implementation throughout 2024.In his address, DRM Lalit Bohra emphasised the importance of active participation in TOLIC programmes and encouraged offices to contribute high-quality articles to the “Visakha-Bharati” magazine.The DRM also advised member offices to organise diverse activities designed to increase both the use and propagation of Hindi as the official language.
