Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will not be attending the opening ceremony of the Miss World 2025 pageant, which begins on Saturday in the city.Sources indicate that the Chief Minister’s decision to stay away from the event stems from the prevailing tense situation along India’s borders. In light of the heightened security concerns and geopolitical climate, Reddy has opted to prioritise matters of national importance.As a consequence of this decision, the state government has also cancelled the dinner reception that was previously planned to be hosted for the Miss World contestants at the historic Chowmahalla Palace. This dinner was intended as a gesture of welcome and an opportunity to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Telangana to the international participants.Despite the Chief Minister’s absence and the cancellation of the state-hosted dinner, the Miss World 2025 pageant is scheduled to proceed as planned. The opening ceremony is set to commence at 6 pm today, marking the official start of the month-long celebration of beauty and global camaraderie in Hyderabad.
