Vijayawada:In a significant move, the Andhra Pradesh cabinet has approved a proposal to include the name “Amaravati” as capital in the State Reorganisation Act. The recommendation would be sent to the Centre for necessary action.The decision was made during the cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat, where several major resolutions were passed.Information minister Kolusu Parthasarathy told the media that the council of ministers expressed its solidarity with the Operation Sindoor and congratulated the Army for the strength it has demonstrated in this operation.The cabinet has approved a proposal for an amendment to the law in the sub-section (2) of section 5 and the explanation to section 5 of the erstwhile AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, determining the name of the capital of the divided state of Andhra Pradesh as Amaravati. Dry” (Assessed Waste Dry) and to grant permission to the SPSR Nellore district collector to facilitate the process of granting pattas to the residents of Bhagat Singh Colony.
