People Rush Out Due to Tremors in Karimnagar, Adilabad

Adilabad: Residents across Nirmal, Mancherial, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Karimnagar, Jagtial, Sircilla and Peddapalli districts experienced brief earthquake tremors on Monday evening, prompting many to rush outdoors in alarm. The seismic event, measured at magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale, originated approximately 1.5 km beneath Pulikunta village in Rebbena mandal, Komaram Bheem Asifabad. Tremors were strongly felt in Kadam mandal (Nirmal), Luxettipet (Mancherial), and Old Pulikunta (Rebbena).“Utensils shook on the rack, and CCTV footage captured the house swaying,” said Addagatla Narayana of Khanapur, Nirmal district. In Kadam, resident Shravani recalled, “I grabbed my children and ran out when I realised it was an earthquake.”Although most shocks lasted just two to three seconds, panic spread quickly via viral CCTV clips on social media. Families called relatives and friends to check on their safety.Similar mild tremors were reported in these districts on previous occasions — most recently on December 4, 2024, when early-morning jolts alarmed housewives in Mancherial and Komaram Bheem areas, and again later in 2024 in Chennur, Jaipur, Ramnagar, Naspur colonies, Karnamamidi (Hazipur), and Kautala, Chinthalamanepalli, and Bejjur in Komaram Bheem Asifabad. No injuries or property damage have been reported in Monday’s event, and local authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region.
