Visakhapatnam: A specialized 30-member SWAT team, including female officers, has been deployed to manage emergency situations in industrial areas, particularly during protests and agitations.Anakapalli Superintendent of Police (SP) Tuhin Sinha inspected the team’s equipment, including helmets, batons, stone guards, long and short-range shells, smoke shells, and gas guns. He also reviewed their riot control procedures, including proper techniques for managing protestors and vehicle operations.The SP emphasized the importance of vigilance and duty awareness among SWAT team members. “There is no room for negligence in these operations,” he stated, adding that continuous training will help achieve better results. The team has been authorized to disperse mobs and maintain order during industrial disturbances.
